Driven by our passion for the art we went to the exhibition of paintings by Vincent Van Gogh and Gauguin ... two artists who meet once again with the mysteries of fate ....
Vincent Van Gogh and Gauguin ... Exhibition of Van Gogh and Gauguin's journey ... Genoa (Italy)... We go ... We are housed within the halls of the Palazzo Ducale ... At the entrance we find a faithful recreation of Van Gogh's room, not the picture, his own bedroom. Hanging on the walls of this room we admire three paintings, including one representing a pair of boots, these are the shoes of Van Gogh after he began his journey on foot between the Netherlands and Belgium ... are two worn-out shoes, with thousands and thousands of stories to tell ... The walls are transcribed (and translated) letters of Van Gogh to his brother Theo. Together with his letters to his brother Vincent sends his pictures to sell. In his travels portrays Van Gogh what he sees and sends all the works to his brother, as he says in his letter: "The paintings do not have to like it or not, but only inspire emotions" (wise words). Van Gogh was in contact by letter with his sister Elisabeth which often tells of his canvases, paintings, landscapes and colors produced to create certain details. Unfortunately, Vincent was an extremely sensitive and unstable. For his mental crises he was admitted, and even in this period of his life he never ceased to paint what he saw, so we admired a small corner of that house of mental health care, a bench, painted several times, empty. Depressed, misunderstood, discouraged Vincent went into a vortex of mental insanity. The same madness that eventually led him to shoot himself. Vincent Van Gogh lived for a while 'time with his friend Gauguin, I wonder what were the conversations between two people like them, many like them deeply as they do. The exhibition makes us realize that, in their own way, both these great artists have embarked on a huge journey. Gauguin was pushed to the extreme of the known world, fleeing after his daughter's death because of pneumonia and the separation from his beloved wife, Metta. Van Gogh starts with a pair of boots from his little bedroom, leaving a bed unmade, as if he had left in a hurry, and depicts on canvas everything he sees in his path. Start with joyful paintings, full of color and life, ending with the last square, where he uses very dark black color and portrays crows incumbent and roads that branch off, as if he did not know which one to choose ... Vincent owned by her madness eventually shot himself in the chest, but unfortunately (or fortunately) not aimed well and did not die immediately, bleeding managed to reach the hotel where he lived, he sat down and fate allowed him to smoke his pipe one last time. On a wall of the exhibition is transcribed letter from a friend who tells just as Vincent is dead, saying that when I have trussed, died, was surrounded by all his paintings. Maybe at that time had finished his journey body but the soul will continue to travel, I hope it is a journey to a place where a soul can be understood as a Van Gogh. His last letter to his brother Theo was found in his pocket ... Gauguin's journey was very different from that of Vincent ... an incredible journey even to the present day ... up to exotic and distant lands. Gauguin's search for answers, so intense is his research at the peak of its production feverishly paints a huge picture, beautiful, deep, which grants the title of the same question you want answered: "Where are we? Who are we? Where we go? " .. in his own way tries to find the Garden of Eden, and perhaps without realizing it, had also found. In this fascinating and impressive latest work, as he says, puts his whole self, all its essence, his whole soul. He admits that will be enough to match that intensity. At first, a note of the Show: "Without this framework shows that could not have done, and even with this picture only shows this could have been done anyway." NOTE: the exhibition of Van Gogh and Gauguin trip was hosted and extended until May 1, 2012, inside the Palazzo Ducale in Venice, next to this wonderful and generous circular fountain, behind the door with a huge and imposing giant swing in the shape of Neptune and beside this modern staircase that curls in on itself in a dizzying height dining ...I assure you that seeing this show is exciting and enriches you inside more than you can imagine ...=^.^=
