Adventures in Sardinia ... hunt for fossils, sun and sea ...
SARDINIA These are our summer adventures in Sardinia ... This year 2009 we went to Cala Gonone ... We were lucky to find a vacation package at a discount! ...
But there is cause for gossip ...
look at some nice pictures! ...  The beaches in Sardinia are awfully nice ... this one in particular has involved ... with this beautiful contrast between black and white. 
There is a net detachment between the white and black rock of an ancient lava flow. We wondered where was the volcano, but we have not seen ... But certainly there was in antiquity because the black part is certainly a lava flow! .. 
By closely observing the surrounding rocks we realized that there were real fossils! ...
Incredible ... fossils! ...
In light of the sun! ...
Without even having to dig! ...
Do not you believe it? ...
Brother was in seventh heaven! ...

Observe the surrounding rocks and realize that they are studded with fossils! ...
Great ! ...
We had an idea of how you can see all these fossils ... of course we have no certainty, but we are more than convinced ...
Our theory is:
... in antiquity some shells were set on a beautiful sandy beach, the volcano suddenly erupted and its lava beach until he was thrown overboard. The lava is then cooled and solidified. Over the centuries the top of the lava has been eroded by the sea and in some places it was discovered underneath an ancient beach crystallized (or vitrified) by the passage of lava. All that was lying on the sand was crystallized ...
You like our theory? ..
Maybe not true but at least we tried to give an explanation for this unusual finding.
Perhaps you see little ... but there are many fossils embedded in this rock ... 
Brother continues to show again ... 
Watch this little fossil is well defined! ...  This is the best photo ... fossils are seen perfectly printed on the rock. 
What an incredible place! ... In our "enlightened" theory we are enjoying this ancient lava flow, where black lava cooled has been partially eroded by the sea and discovered the beach below crystallized, white, dazzling in the sun. 
Jump to another of the innumerable and shifting beaches of Sardinia .. this time it is red! ... 
We went to rummage through the geological strata that the sea has brought to light ...
Unfortunately there were no fossils! ...
Sin! ...
However, this cliff eroded by the sea was fascinating. 
Seeking some refreshment in the shade of this old plant ... 
It 'amazing how they survive these shrubs near the seashore, twisted in bad weather and at the same time incredibly strong and tenacious. 
Just beautiful.

It 'a paradise on earth! ...
Look closely at the rocks that surround us, and we note with surprise that there are concretions of stone .. Olivine typical volcanic! ...
The volcano, however, just do not have seen it ...  We get lost along the shallow water, surrounded by rocks excavated from the sea ... enchanting adventure! ... 
Come back from far inland we spot a flock gathered in the shade of a big tree ...  Fascinating ... softens the scene there.
We continue in our little adventure holiday ...

We spot from a deserted cove ... 
Unfortunately only a stones! ...
We like the stones ... However, from time to time, we'd like a little sandy beach! ...
A little further on the best beach ... View is beautiful .. adventurer climbed up over a rock and soon you will dip in the sea ... 
We are satisfied with smaller rocks and the cool ripple of the sea. 
Other coast ... This time there really opportunities for bathing ...

Sea blue and black lava rock ... 
Watch closely the geometric shape that has taken the rock. Really interesting how the solidification of the rock has left these rectangular shapes.
